In our continuing effort to prevent the decline of herpetofaunal species, PARC has begun to develop Conservation Action Plans (CAPs) for at-risk species. The plans are focused on species currently being evaluated for Endangered Species Act listing by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or other species that are in need of conservation actions. CAPs, also referred to as Best Management Practices documents, describe specific management practices that are intended to serve as guidelines that land managers can use to implement conservation and management actions that provide a positive conservation benefit to a particular species.
